Anthony Goicolea let his family albums guide his latest exhibition, Related III. The Cuban artist's photographs, drawings, and installations are spun from portraits of family members both known and unknown to him. By reinterpreting these images, the artist reacts to feelings of cultural assimilation and addresses the disconnection to his homeland while simultaneously finding a place for his history amid his life in the US. His new collection at Sandroni.Rey includes an impressive drawing/photo diptych featuring multiple generations of his family — all captured in an "idealized state" — around a dinner table.
