Cynthia Ettinger acts as more of an editor/troupe leader than a writer/director in the Actors Gang's ongoing workshop production of its new work in progress. Much of the material is culled from the shared personal experiences of the cast itself, using humor, confrontation, music, movement, and monologue to great effect. The ensemble cast creates a whirlwind of intersecting vignettes that alternately illustrate, re-enact, and lampoon the hypocrisy, history, bigotry, and well-intentioned incomprehension that characterize race relations in the US. A certain amount of content has centered on the state of the presidential election, so it remains to be seen how this living work responds to Obama's victory.
