Polysics are as renowned for their pummeling assaults on pop-punk power chords as for their spaztastic yelps. The band's synth-driven wackiness, digital bleeps, and laser sounds conjure day-glo images of the future. Polysics' latest record, We Ate the Machine, showcases the jumpsuit-sporting quartet at its poppiest, yet the band's "technicolor pogo punk" is as unrelenting as ever, pounding into your skull like a doomsday computer virus programmed to turn your hard drive to goo. The vacantly grinning casualties from tonight's show may have to be wheeled out.
