As a performer, Paul Taylor shared the stage with the great masters of dance: Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham. As artistic director of his own company, Taylor started out by collaborating with artists such as Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg, then began cultivating the talents of dancers who went on to found major institutions of their own, including Twyla Tharp, Laura Dean, and David Parsons. Having performed in 62 countries throughout the world during its 54-year history, the company maintains a deep repertory of classic works that it deploys with exceptional grace and technical prowess.
