Linda Besemer produces the kind of art that provokes people to solve the mystery of how she does it. Without divulging trade secrets, it has to do with applying — almost pouring — acrylic medium onto flat surfaces, and peeling them when dry. The resulting algebraic abstractions hang on bars and sometimes drape to the floor, like shiny, plastic, op art bath towels. Besemer's latest body of work evolves from previous series of layers and stripes, enticing maddeningly precise geometries and mind-teasing optical effects from viscous pigments.
