Some may remember his punk-rock days as frontman for the angst-ridden, Epitaph-signed band Osker, but Devon Williams has largely left his over-the-top antics behind. He now lends whimsical guitar licks to local psych-folk outfit Lavender Diamond, although tonight he takes the stage at the Smell for a more pared-down, personal session. Williams proves to be a winsome crooner who can delicately balance a John Lennon-esque vibe with jangly power pop. He's joined by Olympia, Washington, natives Lake and Desolation Wilderness, plus Oakland's Colossal Yes, featuring Utrillo Kushner, "drummer dude" of Comets on Fire.
