Out of the ashes of breakout punk act the Distillers emerges Spinnerette, Brody Dalle's latest searingly hot take on femme-fronted rock 'n roll. This seductive Aussie vocalist named herself after controversial French actress Béatrice Dalle, whose anti-hero status is held in high regard by punks. These days, Dalle is putting the final touches on a Spinnerette debut album, and if this record is like any of her other notable projects, it's sure to attract ears as the band hunts for label backing. Tonight, the group is supported by the brazen percussive antics of Cardiff-based Future of the Left.
