In Religulous, veteran comedian and free thinker Bill Maher travels the world, visiting a Holy Land theme park in Florida, London's famous Speaker's Corner, and the scene of Theo van Gogh's murder in Amsterdam; he also hits the most sacred and contested sites in Jerusalem, Salt Lake City, and Vatican City. In each of these locations, Maher probes people's religious convictions, bringing his infamous suspicion and gasp-inducingly hilarious sarcasm to bear upon the gap between science and scripture. Throughout the documentary, Maher delivers an ambitious, reasonable, and even-handed array of questions, answers, and insights.
