Music: Rock/Pop Giant Sand w/ Robert Francis and Bucksworth

Fresh from the dunes of Tuscon, Arizona, old-school indie-Americana extraordinaires Giant Sand hit town tonight. Primary songwriter and guitarist Howe Gelb formed the band over 20 years ago and went on to record a slate of college rock classics for Thrill Jockey. Akin to introspective songwriters like Neil Young, Giant Sand's new record, Provisions, offers a slick, mellow alt-country outing for easily frazzled ears.
