The Los Angeles Conservancy's 30th Anniversary Celebration: An Evening with Richard Moe

On this 30th anniversary celebration of the Los Angeles Conservancy, President of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Richard Moe discusses how historic buildings are renewable resources, and why it makes no sense to recycle goods but not structures. Moe outlines the fiscal and cultural benefits of reuse, as well as how it effectively decelerates climate change. Constructed in 1958 as the headquarters for Unocal, the evening's venue, the Los Angeles Center Studios, is itself an example of the successful refurbishment of a mid-century modernist marvel.
