The forthcoming documentary Cesar's Last Fast chronicles the final hunger strike undertaken by iconic workers'-rights activist Cesar Chavez. Now, in a kind of poetic irony, the makers of the film appeal to the generosity of ordinary citizens for funds to help finish this impactful labor of love. Celebrities including Norman Lear and Martin Sheen lend their support to the project and help extend the invitation to this benefit cocktail party, which provides further insight into the life of a man who literally revolutionized our government and society's attitudes toward the human and civil rights of farm laborers — often at great personal risk.
