Offering a welcome respite from the traditional concert hall, Whitney Sander's "Hybrid House" approach to pre-fabricated housing combines a physical manifestation of the Cubist aesthetic of Georges Braque with green architecture that favors a hybridized, custom approach to living. Phyllis Chen brings music into this space to kick off the Da Camera Society's new Piccante series, tickling and banging the wooden "ivories" with works such as John Cage's 1948 classic Suite for Toy Piano and Julia Wolfe's landmark East Broadway for toy piano and boombox.
