First published by her pal Matt Groening in Evergreen State College's school paper, cartoonist Lynda Barry's Ernie Pook's Comeek propelled her to cult figure status after being picked up by the Chicago Reader in 1979. Groening has been no slouch in the cartoon world either, authoring the weekly Life is Hell comic strip and moving on to create award-winning cultural phenomena such as The Simpsons and Futurama. Tonight, the colleagues catch up for an animated tête-à-tête as part of the Hammer Museum's Conversations series.
