Metropolis Books' Edible Estates: Attack on the Front Lawn provides modern-day homeowners with an innovative alternative to traditional landscaping. Rather than pruning rosebushes and planting snapdragons, artist Fritz Haeg suggests sowing your own fruits and vegetables with aesthetic flair. The book's contributors — landscape architects, garden and food writers, authors, and artists — offer insight into the intersections between the sustainable, the functional, and the beautiful. Tonight, Haeg discusses front-lawn farming in an exchange co-organized with the UCR Blakely Center for Sustainable Suburban Development.
