This year's California Touring Project assembles a stellar lineup of original dance-makers for an evening of in-the-round works, bound by the shared goal of confronting conventional notions of dance. Presented in Diavolo's cavernous studio, the bill is choreographed by experimental-performance stalwart and Max 10 founder Cid Pearlman; Casebolt and Smith, whose stylized duets are performed with wit, charm, and nuance; impovisational explorer Susan Rose; and Yolande Snaith, who re-visits fragments of raw choreographic material from existing works, re-inventing them for the immersive environment.
