Brooklyn noise rockers Parts & Labor never stray far from the formula — dense layers of scabrous noise coating the band's basic, riffy punk core. It's a simple premise, but with overdriven synths that would make Suicide cover their ears and songwriting that would make Bob Mould jealous, it's always electrifying. The recent Escaper EPs and Dan Friel's solo Ghost Town sacrificed some of the usual anthemry and full-band thrust, but as far as stopgap distractions go, they weren't without their charms. Still, fans hungry for P&L's original fuzz-drunk Husker Du M.O. won't want to miss tonight. Support comes from a pair of simpatico bands, Gowns (featuring former members of the Mae Shi) and bluesy shoegazers the Terrors.
