Artist Elana Mann has been coordinating Exchange Rate: 2008 in an effort to facilitate creative dialogue regarding the US presidential election. Over 100 artists from 16 nations have offered performance directives via email, text messages, and other means of communication, which have then been executed by an international counterpart at key points in the race. This evening features translated performances, in addition to live coverage of international election-night activities, bringing the visibility of performance art to the level of politics by engaging the mass media.
