You'd think Halloween (along with Día de los Muertos) would be the kind of mainstream holiday David Lynch could get behind, but this year, the legendary connoisseur of cringe prefers to celebrate the Day of the Living instead. To that end, his foundation presents a night of indie music, mariachis, and the man himself playing VJ at the Viper Room. Saint Motel's imploring, atonal, and irresistible garage glam; the uptempo scream-crooning of the Ringers; the straightforwardly radio-friendly and, for this crowd, relatively lyrical music of the Cheat; and Rumspringa's curiously melodic, self-described "Americana jungle crunk" promise quite the sonic throwdown.
