[Inside] the Ford's New Plays Series makes use of the intimate theatre under the venue's more familiar outdoor setting during the off-season, presenting a winter lineup of plays from award-winning new voices in theatre. Song of Extinction starts the series off with its ruminative, symbolically fraught tale of how the personal and historical can intersect across inter-generational, interracial, and intellectual boundaries, set against a sweeping backdrop of science and history in the Cambodian rain forest.
