On a battlefield, "finding joy" means functioning radio contact has been initiated. At MoCA, it means building a working, decidedly low-fi radio of your own. Tonight's finale to the Finishing School's three-month performance residency, Engagement Party, encourages visitors to use handcrafted transistors to pick up transmissions across the museum. The prerecorded messages contain interviews with community members about things that bring them, well, joy. The public is also invited to call the Finding Joy Hotline (213.455.2926) and leave messages for the ham program.
