LA-based installation artist Jennifer Vanderpool teams up with Swedish sound engineer Rasmus Persson in this one-night-only performance of Urban Jungle, a multimedia situation inspired by the hidden poetics of urban life. The piece incorporates everyday materials, creating a maze within which the viewer is immersed. Inspired by the architecture and public parks that dot Santa Barbara, Vanderpool and Persson assemble a collection of recorded sounds. Café chatter, household appliances, street traffic, and TV commercials are then paired with 3-D animations, creating a multi-sensory experience that digs deep into the idyllic city that inspired it.
