Perennially under-the-radar but always extraordinary, Autolux just got the go-ahead to play Coachella in April and now bring their Technicolor noise pop to the El Rey. Since forming in 2000, the band has been pushing nonstop, signing to T-Bone Burnett's then-fledgling label DMZ and touring with the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Beck, the White Stripes, and Queens of the Stone Age. Autolux drummer Carla Azar now sports a titanium elbow — how's that for creative growth? At the top of the lineup this evening is scuzzy, art-glam outfit HEALTH.
