Johan Grimonprez's foreboding documentary Dial H-I-S-T-O-R-Y explores the press' constantly shifting obsession with airplane hijackings. With nods to the phenomenon's most obvious contemporary association, the film charts the radical group-hijackings of the '60s, proceeding on up to the shocking bombings of the '90s. Grimonprez compiles TV coverage, cartoons, propaganda, and DeLillo-novel voiceovers to expose the unhealthy mushrooming of one of the media's favorite disasters.
