- Julie Davidow, bud
Miami-based painter and self-proclaimed "frustrated scientist" Julie Davidow presents a series of new works that embody the interactions between man and nature, biology and pathology. Although her images ooze and seep from the canvases onto the gallery walls like harmful bacteria in a petri dish, the paintings' textures and colors are strangely calming. A site-specific wall drawing organically bonds all the pieces together, but it also acts as a point from which the individual images break away and develop independently — not unlike the actual process of cell division.
Note:
There is an opening reception on Sat Feb 16 (6-8pm).
