Bundle up in melodic layers tonight as Brooklyn duo Dean & Britta's sleek twang gets paired with French chanteuse Keren Ann's masterful torch-song tristesse. Formerly of the band Luna, Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips are the contemporary American urbanites' answer to Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot — made explicit in their cover of "Bonnie & Clyde." The warm, whispered vocals of Keren Ann that crystallized on her 2004 album Nolita now enjoy the added accompaniment of an electric guitar, piped in to gorgeous effects. Together, the two acts represent a certain cosmopolitan breed of rock stars.
