Music: Rock/Pop The Hives w/ the Donnas

Exuberant Swedish garage rockers the Hives, fronted by the egomaniacal Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, don their matching black-and-white suits at the Wiltern tonight in support of last year's aptly named The Black and White Album. Belting out compact (and admittedly narcissistic) rock anthems about "your new favorite band" while effecting his most convincing Mick Jagger impression, the charismatic Almqvist certainly gives the crowd the high-octane show they came for. Punk princesses the Donnas start up the night.
