Performing Arts: Dance State Ballet of Georgia: Giselle

Having graced stages everywhere from New York City to St. Petersburg, Nina Ananiashvili now applies her vision as an artistic director and prima ballerina to the State Ballet of Georgia. With a fierce commitment to virtuosic dancing, the historic Russian troupe presents the classic tale of deceit, betrayal, and undying love, Giselle. This, their Los Angeles premiere, features Ananiashvili dancing the title role in the tragic ballet. A program of mixed rep, including works by Balanchine, Ratmansky, and Possokhov follows on Thursday February 22.
