Music: Jazz/Blues Pat Metheny Trio

Pat Metheny's legend began when the freshman guitar major dropped out of college — only to be offered a teaching post at the same institution just days later. Today's Metheny is a bona-fide jazz-guitar godfather, traveling the world with various combos since the mid-'70s and enlightening audiences with wistful, lighting-fast runs and witty interpretations of standards. Metheny's original material has helped bring progressive jazz, fusion, and post-bop to a mainstream audience. Joining him tonight are two exceptionally talented rhythm players, bassist Christian McBride and drummer Antonio Sanchez, both of whom appear on Metheny's recent album, Day Trip.
