The reading is alive in LA — and it's in the back room of Los Feliz's chinois-noir Good Luck Bar. The Rhapsodomancy series was founded by local literati Wendy C. Ortiz and Andrea Quaid in 2004. This month's edition features Ellen Bass, whose intimate poetry uses precise, intuitive metaphors, and Frank X. Gaspar who, by contrast, prefers longer lines flecked with allusion. Gleah Powers writes of her dance and travel experiences, and Robert W. Fox's nonfiction revolves around the under-served teens he teaches at juvenile hall.
