Film Chicago 10

In the revolution-rich year of 1968, the French had a tough May; the US, in turn, had one heck of an August. The unrest came to a head with a televised clash between Vietnam-war protesters and Chicago police during the Democratic National Convention. Brett Morgen's documentary Chicago 10 focuses on the aftermath of the riots, when eight scapegoats were put on trial for exercising their First Amendment rights. Whereas Morgen's tribute to producer Robert Evans, The Kid Stays in the Picture (2002), suffered from an insider-y tone, his latest tackles the powers-that-be with an everyman's concern.
