Los Angeles-based psychedelic-rock outfit Dead Meadow celebrate the release of a new album and kick off a tour of the US and Europe with a show at Echoplex. Their third Matador release, Old Growth, fuses the dense, hypnotic sound they created for 2003's Shivering King and Others with rollicking Southern rock and low-key acoustic numbers. The result is a catchy collection of reverberating riffs and jangling melodies. Opening are local indie-pop impresarios Midnight Movies and the Great Northwest.
