Spanish entertainer Eva Yerbabuena has been called the preeminent flamenco dancer of her generation; the 37-year-old German-born, Cuban-trained artist frequently sells out halls across the world. After a headlining appearance in Leaving Las Vegas director Mike Figgis' documentary Flamenco Women ten years ago, she started her own dance company, the Eva Yerbabuena Ballet Flamenco group. Tonight, the five-piece troupe hits UCLA for Santa y Seña (Signs and Wonders), a provocative piece rooted in traditional Andalusian dance and brightened by Yerbabuena's highly stylized, modern flamenco footwork.
