Gran Ronde celebrate the release of their new EP — a spark plug of a record that walks the path beaten by Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me-era Cure, but with just the right amount of indie-rock modernity, romantic irony, and sass to keep the neo-emo goths at bay. Three local gangs support, starting with the antic sultriness of Bloodcat Love, with their suspended hooks and gravelly crooning shot through with guitar-riff gold. Also sharing the bill are the dance-floor friendly, Echo and the Bunnymen-esque War Tapes and exuberantly loud-ass Norwegian avant-folk-rock transplants Bigbang.
