More Flavor: Parade Chinese New Year Golden Dragon Parade
-
- The Golden Dragon Parade
Today marks the start of the Year of the Rat — a much more auspicious time than the name implies. The rat, in fact, is the sign of clever people with good, expensive taste, who are capable of transcending their materialistic nature if they choose. After pondering that, join the neighborhood festivities in Chinatown at the Golden Dragon Parade on Saturday, and then on Sunday as the annual spectacle of art, music, food, and craft continues at the New Year Festival. Events take place on Hill and Ord Streets, up to Bernard, and bend back down Broadway. Tip: if you go on Saturday, leave extra time to visit the neighborhood art galleries, especially along the Chung King Road walkway.
