Art Tessar Lo and Chris Devera: something to cry for

This Valentine's Day, project: gallery presents Tessar Lo and Chris Devera, two illustrator/artists whose imagination-gone-wild paintings never hesitate to take things too far. Lo draws from anime, X-Men trading cards, 19th-century colonialist painters, and Ukiyo-e prints to create fantastical dreamscapes deserving of a Goya lookalike honorable mention. Devera plays the slightly sweeter sidekick to Lo's more sinister persona, but don't be fooled by his sanguine ruse: the irony in his work is as deadly as a sugar-high crash.
