Bright and brash, Mindy Shapero concocts sculptures with a childlike zeal: always curious and never satisfied. Her works seem like visual experiments in representing the infinitesimal, as she builds elaborate, large-scale objects from thousands of individual pieces. Other works border on new-age aesthetics, or manifest seemingly compulsive bouts of color layering. Shapero's ghostheads, composed of ovals with cut-out eyes and mouths, reminds us that we might not be alone in our universe, or hers.
