Art: Photography A Narrative History of the Light Bulb
-
- Catherine Wagner, Untitled I
Photographer Catherine Wagner used the Baltimore Museum of Industry's impressive collection of lightbulbs as the inspiration for her latest exhibition, which focuses on the illuminating inventions. Wagner's work has always displayed an obvious interest in and appreciation for both science and industrial development; in stark contrast to her older black-and-white works, however, A Narrative History of the Lightbulb tells of its namesake's evolution through brilliant color Lambda prints. Playing with still-life composition, Wagner's photographs depict a highly functional household object in a strangely personified state.
Note: There is an opening reception on Sat Mar 15 (6-8pm).
