Catch a little downtown boogie this evening as KCRW and ArtDontSleep team up for another gold-plated, soulful lineup. The evening's docket includes a rare LA appearance by lounge-funk masterminds the Roy Ayers Music Project (RAMP), whose track "American Promise" shows up on the intro to Erykah Badu's new record. LA's own neo-soul chemists the Rebirth and the Latin-tinged trovadores of the Boogaloo Assassins also hit the stage. DJ sets by local turntable maestros Coleman and Cid Hernandez keep things moving throughout.
