John Pizzarelli puts his exclamation mark on the story of LA jazz with this evening's show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Backed by a troupe of saxes, trumpets, and trombones — as well as a killer rhythm section — he performs iconic and lesser-known songs originally written for Ol' Blue Eyes. (Pizzarelli's latest album, Telarc Records' Dear Mr. Sinatra, serves as a tantalizing preview of tonight's expanded repertoire.)
