Music: Rock/Pop Kinky w/ Money Mark

If Kinky and Money Mark's musically ecumenical tour were a style, it would be a Hugo Boss suit with flip-flops. Hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, Kinky are a dynamic five-man hybrid of funk, rock, Afro-Cuban, reggae, hip-hop, and electronic music. Grinding up guitars, turntables, bass, keyboards, and the occasional accordion, the raucous Kinky sound is fresh and international. Beastie Boy keyboardist Money Mark provides a calm before the storm; currently out on Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records, Mark's latest solo release, Brand New by Tomorrow, is a funky, '70s chill-out shape-shifter. His quiet, gravelly voice croons bittersweet lyrics over guitars, violins, and self-described "musical calisthenics" on his trademark Moog.
