Music: DJ DJ Simbad

London-based DJ and producer Simbad is a dance-floor iconoclast through and through. By combing through stacks of records in relatively left-field genres — dancehall, broken beat, disco, jazz — he's become a connoisseur of what he terms "quality booty music." The artist has recorded as Heal, Twitch, Dreadpoet, Marathon Men, and Mowgly & Les Barons, to name a few. Tonight, Simbad makes his first-ever DJ appearance in the city of Angels, sharing select cuts from his new record at Zanzibar's always-bumping monthly Latin-Afrobeat party.
