Performing Arts: Dance Backhausdance at the Barclay

Over the past five years, Jennifer Backhaus has nabbed her share of Lester Horton Awards for her company's finely polished productions. Along the way, Backhausdance has amassed an impressive repertoire of lyrical choreography that explores the human link between movement and music. In celebration of its fifth year, the company presents three premieres and a few reworkings of older pieces, including the award-winning Sitting on January. With a troupe of such faithfully committed dancers, the next five years of Backhausdance look promising indeed.
