New York artist Edgar Heap of Birds doesn't use text to support his visual aesthetic — the text is the aesthetic. In his exhibition at Santa Monica's See Line Gallery, Heap of Birds employs crude language, scribbled in pastel, to relay his sometimes cryptic messages. By drawing attention to historical events and begging for dramatic social change, the artist has the first word(s) in a dialogue among exhibitgoers.
Note: There is an opening reception on Sat Mar 22 (6-9pm).
