Music: Rock/Pop Filter Magazine presents the Deadly Syndrome w/ Dusty Rhodes and the River Band

The Deadly Syndrome are one of those ridiculously frenetic live bands who put as much care into their performances as their studio recordings. After just a handful of live shows in the fall of 2007, the Silverlake quartet began attracting praise from LA Weekly and the LA Times; the group has since recorded a thoughtful first album, The Ortolan, influenced by of-the-moment bands like Wolf Parade and Cold War Kids. The sound isn't wildly unique, but it's delivered with heartfelt flourish, particularly on stage — where homemade props, accordion dancing, and drum circles are all part of the show.
