Music: Rock/Pop Saul Williams w/ Dragons of Zynth

Saul Williams emerged as a star of the NY open-mic poetry scene in the mid '90s, performing with Allen Ginsberg and starring in the acclaimed movie Slam. He's since performed with everyone from Blackalicious to the Mars Volta, published writing in the New York Times, and released a book-length poem with MTV. He's now touring behind his spoken-word-and-music hybrid The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust (produced by Trent Reznor and mixed by Alan Moulder), a whirlwind of aggressive vocals, synth guitars, and pulsating industrial beats. Onstage, Williams morphs into his "Niggy Tardust" persona, a mohawked half-man, half-alien who'd steal Andre 3000's lunch money in a hot second.
