In celebration of its tenth anniversary, the Getty Center presents Ten Years in Focus: The Artist and the Camera. The exhibition draws parallels between photography and artistry through a deep archive of high-quality prints acquired over the last decade. Standout works include Camera Obscura, a wood, glass, and brass replica of the architectural gadget prevalent in the medium's early history; Joseph-Philibert Girault de Prangey's various 19th-century daguerreotypes of old-world sites; and Vik Muniz's innovative photographic interpretation of Francisco de Goya's painted Roman god, Saturn, composed from found materials. – Phil Kropoth
