Note: There is a post-screening Q&A with director Larry Clark.
Based on the real-life events surrounding the murder of a high-school bully, Larry Clark's 2001 film continues the controversial director's running theme: kids gone wild. Filmed in Cooper City, Florida, where the conspiratorial killing took place, Bully tells the terrifying tale of high-school hedonists armed with a grudge — and a dangerous group mentality. Though at times difficult to watch, Bully is most notable for its stripped-down performances: Rachel Miner, Bijou Phillips, Michael Pitt, and Leo Fitzpatrick complete the cast, with haunting performances from leads Nick Stahl and the late Brad Renfro, who is honored tonight.
