Claiming stylistic influences from Jimi Hendrix to Charles Baudelaire, Imaad Wasif's Two Part Beast project perform tonight in support of their new release Strange Hexes. A lush arrangement of throaty fairy tales, the record indeed taps into the frenetic energy radiated by Hendrix (although at a more intimate decibel count) and the aesthetic and sensual intensity of Paris' early modern romantics — as well as various other musical streams spanning indie electro pop, progressive heavy metal, and avant-garde rock 'n roll. They're joined on the bill by ethereal full-moon howlers Voice on Tape.
