With artists like Takashi Murakami slapping color on Louis Vuitton handbags, the line between art and commerce is becoming increasingly blurred. In response to the art-fashion-consumption nexus, Nancy Buchanan and Joseph Santarromana curated group show The Long Weekend, a three-day extravaganza of video, insallation, and performance pieces — all fittingly displayed in the window of a former retail store. Jordan Biren and Corrina Peipon, Ashley McLean Emenegger, and Danial Nord are among those who exhibit their multimedia takes on this hot topic.
