Art: Architecture/Design Fritz Haeg: Edible Estates: Attack on the Front Lawn

Fritz Haeg wears many hats. Originally trained as an architect, he can also list horticulturalist, artist, designer, and author on his resume. In 2005, he created Edible Estates, an initiative through which wasteful lawns are transformed into thriving, environmentally friendly gardens. Three years and four projects later, he's penned a book about the enterprise. Tonight, Haeg delivers a lecture on the project, followed by a signing party — all on the heels of his inclusion in the 2008 Whitney Biennial.
